Building Lives in the Community

Building Lives in the Community is social startup initiated by Belev Raanana for the purpose of building a home for low functioning young adults with severe intellectual disabilities.

Belev Raanana is a registered NPO (nonprofit organization).
The amuta collaborate with professionals in various government offices and local authorities, to advance the interests of children, adolescents and young adults with special needs, and to secure their future.

This project is a groundbreaking model, providing an optimal, dignified residential solution for this very sensitive population.

The home, the first of its kind in Israel, will be built at 9 Haprachim st. Raanana on land allocated by the city of Raanana. Based on high standards of construction, the building will include 3 floors: one apartment on the first floor, two apartments on the ground floor, and public areas and offices on the lower ground floor.

This project is a groundbreaking and will be fully accessible to people with special needs. For the first time in Israel, these young people will live in a real home-that is neither an institute nor a hostel.

The 3 residential units will be run independently, providing its residents with a sense of home, support and security. In the community and close to the families.

dear friends

The City of Raanana strongly supports the integration of people with special needs into society. In light of this policy, the municipality commends the initiative of Belev Raanana - to build a home for young adults with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities and/or in need of nursing care. It is a great privilege to take part in this important project.

We are proud of the city council's decision to allocate public land for the construction of this project, which will provide its residents with a caring home for the rest of their lives, ensuring optimal quality of life for both them and their families. The complex will be built in a residential neighborhood in west Raanana, as part of the concept of integrating people with special needs into society.

We believe that in addition to its great significance for the residents and their families, the project will add an important dimension to the fundamental values of our community. We call upon the people of Raanana to become involved and take part in this important social endeavor.

Sincerely,
Zeev Bielski
Mayor of Raanana

If they could speak, they would say…

"I dream about a home of my own"

About love and responsibility

"I want to live with friends my own age"
"Someone will be there to tuck me in every night"
"My family loves me.
I want to stay close."
"Look at us. We are not transparent."

A social and ethical change

"You can make a difference in our lives"

We invite you to partner with us at Belev Raanana.
Together we will fulfill their dream: Building the first home of its kind in Israel, in the community, for low-functioning young adults.
